Super saturated

Lazy or tired or stressed or something. I'm starting to get restless, I need a change, need a chance. It's summer and the Santa Anas are blowing their tumbleweeds into my heart. I know I have a fashion blog but I really want to do so many different things that I can't funnel it all down. I'm just a jumbled mess of emotions, of unfocused energy, of strange sexual tension that is erupting into my dreams. Do you like how saturated my sweater vest is? I'm into it. I like looking at something so bright, it hurts. I like closing my eyes into the direction of the sun and seeing nothing but red through my eyelids, until I see strange neon shapes dance around me and it makes me squint harder and the shapes dance faster, until I finally squint so hard that I'm opening my mouth, I'm screaming and with my eyes still closed, I'm screaming at the sun, until there is nothing, just red, black, white, blank, and I and the sun become one.

  1. I need more of that red color in my life. Also, that eye ring is sweet. Go where the winds takes you!

  2. You are right, there is definitely some strange energy in the air. Especially "sexual tension," as you said, haha. I love your blog. I love the bell sleeved thing you are wearing in the previous post, as well as the rings and your top in this post.

  5. Love the rings, love the super saturated reddish orangey top, and especially love that you seem to feel like I do.
But I kinda solve this particular issue the worst way possible- I just jumble everything into my giant Epic posts. Which is weird, considering my blog is ostensibly about fashion.
I love the last part of your post. I kinda want to put quotes around the last couple sentences bc they're so beautiful. You are quite a writer.

  7. Ah, Nicki. You gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeus little thing. If I had a jewellery company, I'd die for you to model for me, too. Or any kind of company that would let me take photos of you. Haha. But I don't. So I have to settle for taking photos of myself. Could be worse, I guess - at least I'm awesome at taking directions = doing what I tell myself to do. (At least some of the time.)

Oh, how I would love for someone to one day say to me: Annika, your shirt is so brightly saturated, it hurts to look at you.

(Thanks for your adorable comment on my blog, must confess it sort of made my night.)

PS. I deleted and reposted my comment since I forgot a "v" in "love" and I just couldn't stand it. DS.

  8. Annika-Well, now you forgot an 'o' in gorgeous, but wait! Don't delete your post! Even though I do love that you are kinda neurotic like I am. We all know you're super smart and beautiful so no need to prove anything!

It's daytime over where I am so you're TOTALLY making my day! Ahh! Amazing! The most beautiful girl I've ever seen is saying I'm gorgeous!? Freaking. Out. :)

  11. I like how you are able to have a profoundly poetic connection with nature, and my reaction is to grimace and yell "THE SUN IS TRYING TO KILL ME". I miss you!

  12. That color looks stunning on you. And holy crap, your ring looks like an eyeball. Can it get any more awesome than that?
